Frank Martin (Jason Statham), ex-special forces and professional driver, has taken a quiet job in Miami as a chauffeur for a wealthy family. He gets along with their young son Jack. That quiet ends fast when the boy is kidnapped by Gianni Chellini (Alessandro Gassmann), who has a plan bigger than a ransom demand. Frank drops the suit, picks up whatever is nearby, and starts working through Chellini's crew — including the lethal Lola (Kate Nauta). Matthew Modine and Amber Valletta play the parents, and François Berléand returns as Inspector Tarconi, who spends most of the film trying to keep up with Frank's trail of wreckage.
