The Hills Have Eyes

The Hills Have Eyes (2006) is a horror film by Alexandre Aja that you can watch online on iFILM. The Carter family crosses the desert in a trailer and breaks down on an abandoned weapons range, the kind of place where bombs once went off.

The car dies, the phones stay silent, and the nearest town is miles away. The wasteland only looks empty. Hidden in the rocks are people the radiation twisted out of shape — former miners and their children, left behind after the army cleared their town and kept testing. At night they come down for the strangers. Ted Levine plays the stubborn father, while Aaron Stanford is the pacifist son-in-law forced to abandon his principles to save anyone at all.

Aja remade Wes Craven's 1977 cult original and pushed the brutality further, refusing to give the audience a break. The mutant makeup came from practical-effects master Greg Nicotero.
