Treasure Planet

Treasure Planet (2002) is a Walt Disney Pictures animated adventure — watch it online on iFILM. Directors Ron Clements and John Musker, the pair behind The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, transplanted Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island into deep space: tall ships become solar galleons, sea charts become star maps, and the Caribbean gives way to supernovas.

Fifteen-year-old Jim Hawkins (voiced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) gets his hands on a holographic map to the fabled loot of a thousand worlds. Assigned to help is cyborg ship's cook John Silver (Brian Murray), who turns out to have complicated loyalties of his own. Emma Thompson voices the no-nonsense Captain Amelia, while David Hyde Pierce plays the anxious astrophysicist Doctor Doppler.
