Synopsis
Troll Hunter (Trolljegeren, 2010) is a Norwegian found-footage fantasy horror you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by André Øvredal, it became one of the most acclaimed entries in the mockumentary genre and launched his international career.
Three film students set out to expose a suspected poacher in the Norwegian mountains. What they find instead is Hans — a weathered government contractor who drives a battered Land Rover, carries a UV cannon, and spends his nights hunting trolls. The Norwegian state has kept their existence classified for decades. Hans is tired, underpaid, and not particularly happy to have a camera crew following him into the dark.
Øvredal shot almost entirely on location, using real fjords, forests, and highland plateaus to sell the premise. The trolls themselves draw on Scandinavian folk traditions rather than generic monster design. Stream Troll Hunter (2010) online on iFILM.
