Dawn of the Dead
When there’s no more room in HELL, the dead will walk the EARTH!
Synopsis
Dawn of the Dead (1978) — watch online on iFILM: George Romero's landmark horror film and the second chapter of his zombie saga. Four survivors steal a helicopter out of epidemic-ravaged Philadelphia and put down on the roof of a sprawling Pittsburgh shopping mall.
The mall is full of the dead — and full of goods nobody needs anymore. Two SWAT officers, a TV cameraman, and his producer girlfriend clear out floor by floor, barricade the entrances, and try to build something like a normal life. Romero shot the whole film at the real Monroeville Mall in Pennsylvania, turning it into a wry portrait of consumer society: the dead shuffle through the same corridors out of old habit, and the living aren't much smarter. Then a biker gang arrives, and the fragile peace breaks apart.
David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott Reiniger, and Gaylen Ross make up the core cast — a group template that dozens of later zombie films lifted wholesale. Stream Dawn of the Dead (1978) online on iFILM.
