Remember the Titans

Remember the Titans (2000) is a sports drama from Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films you can watch online on iFILM. Denzel Washington plays Coach Herman Boone, a man who takes over a Virginia high school football program in 1971 — the year Alexandria County forced two rival schools to merge and, for the first time, put Black and white players on the same roster.

The previous coach, Bill Yoast (Will Patton), is still around. His players still see him as their guy. The boys from the two schools barely speak in the locker room. Then Boone loads everyone onto a bus to a training camp at Gettysburg, and something starts to shift — not quickly, not without fights, but it shifts. Director Boaz Yakin keeps the story grounded in the friction between individuals: Julius Campbell and Gerry Bertier don't become friends out of nowhere. Wood Harris and Ryan Hurst carry that arc through the whole film.
