12 Strong (2018) is Nicolai Fuglsig's war action film you can watch online on iFILM. The story stayed classified for years: weeks after September 11, a dozen American soldiers slipped quietly into the mountains of Afghanistan.

Captain Mitch Nelson (Chris Hemsworth) leads a team with no decent maps and no reliable air cover when it counts. To reach Taliban positions across terrain no vehicle can cross, the men climb onto horseback, twenty-first-century weapons riding beside rifles and cavalry. Their ally is General Dostum (Navid Negahban), a warlord with his own scores to settle and his own rules, a man the Americans don't trust at first, and for good reason. Michael Shannon and Michael Peña play the sergeants holding the unit together once the plan falls apart at the first contact.

The script grew out of journalist Doug Stanton's book about the real ODA 595, the team nicknamed the horse soldiers. Fuglsig shot in the New Mexico desert, and the cavalry charges are practical rather than digital.
