Synopsis

King Neptune's crown — voiced by Jeffrey Tambor — has gone missing, and the evidence points straight at Mr. Krabs. SpongeBob has just been passed over for the manager job he always wanted. He goes anyway. With Patrick at his side, he sets off on an 87-minute road trip to Shell City: past hired assassin Dennis (Alec Baldwin), through fields of dangerous jellyfish, and toward a finale that somehow involves David Hasselhoff playing himself as an escape vehicle. Scarlett Johansson voices Princess Mindy along the way.
