Synopsis
King Kong (2005) is Peter Jackson's epic adventure blockbuster — his first film after the Lord of the Rings trilogy — and you can watch it online on iFILM. Made for $207 million and shot in New Zealand at Jackson's own WingNut Films, it took three Academy Awards for sound and visual effects.
Filmmaker Carl Denham (Jack Black) pushes his crew to sail for a remote island hidden off the Sumatran coast. What they find there is not a legend — it's Kong, a gorilla the size of a building who has ruled the island for centuries. Actress Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts) is taken by Kong almost immediately, and what develops between them is harder to categorize than it sounds. Screenwriter Jack Driscoll (Adrien Brody) fights to reach her while Denham has a different plan: capture Kong and bring him back to New York alive. Andy Serkis performed Kong through motion capture, giving the creature a weight that CGI alone rarely achieves.
The film ran nearly 187 minutes in theaters and grossed $562 million worldwide — proof that audiences wanted the full, unhurried version of the story. Stream King Kong (2005) online on iFILM.
