Caitríona Balfe plays Claire with a wartime surgeon's nerve: she speaks Latin, sets bones, and reads a battlefield in seconds. Sam Heughan is Jamie Fraser, a young Highland warrior who becomes her protector and, eventually, far more than that. Claire is pulled between two men and two irreconcilable lifetimes, and neither road is safe. Based on Diana Gabaldon's eight-novel series, the show ran for eight seasons and 101 episodes before reaching its conclusion.
