Martyrs

Martyrs (2008) is a French horror film from Pascal Laugier you can watch online on iFILM. It remains one of the harshest and most divisive entries in the New French Extremity.

Early 1970s. A little girl named Lucie, missing for nearly a year, is found wandering a country road. She's deep in shock and can't explain what was done to her inside an abandoned slaughterhouse. There are no marks of the usual abuse on her body, which points to something far stranger. Fifteen years later, a grown Lucie comes back to settle the score with her captors, dragging along her friend Anna, herself a survivor of a childhood nightmare. From there the story turns somewhere no viewer expects. Morjana Alaoui and Mylène Jampanoï play two women pushed to the absolute edge of what a person can bear.
