Synopsis
The Unholy (2021) is a supernatural horror film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos and based on James Herbert's novel. Jeffrey Dean Morgan leads the cast as Gerry Fenn, a disgraced journalist scraping for a story in rural New England.
He finds something. A deaf-mute girl named Alice, played by Cricket Brown, claims she saw the Virgin Mary near a hollow tree at the edge of a field. The next morning she can hear and speak. Soon she heals a sick child. Word spreads fast — Fenn files the story, the Vatican sends an observer, the bishop starts planning a shrine. But Fenn keeps circling back to the tree, and to what he knows about the woman burned there a hundred and fifty years ago on a witchcraft charge.
William Sadler and Cary Elwes round out the ensemble. The film works as an investigation before it becomes a horror movie — the questions pile up faster than the answers, and not every answer arrives in a form you want. Watch The Unholy online on iFILM.
